Commercial and council floors

The same finishes as our residential work, on commercial, council and government floors. Plus the preparation that comes before new floor coverings: adhesives, coatings and high spots ground off so the next trade starts on a clean, flat slab.

What you see. Whatever suits the use. Most commercial floors are honed or polished to 800: matte or satin, hard-wearing and easy to clean. Grind and seal suits back-of-house, stores and workshops.

Where it suits. Retail and hospitality fit-outs, offices, schools and childcare, community halls and libraries, showrooms, warehouses and workshops, and floor preparation on refurbishments.

What to know. On an occupied site the program matters as much as the finish. We work after hours, in stages or around trading, with dust extracted at the grinder so the rest of the building stays open. Where a floor needs a slip rating, independent testing can be arranged.

From plans, a specification or a site visit. We confirm finish, program, access, power and site rules.

    Sample

A sample area finished and signed off before the full floor, so the standard is agreed up front.

Questions

Can you work after hours or around trading?

Yes. Most occupied sites are done at night, on weekends or in stages, so the business or building keeps running. The program is agreed before we start.

Do you work as a subcontractor to builders?

Yes. We work to the builder's program, do the site induction, and supply a safe work method statement and insurance details before we start.

How do you control silica dust?

Every grinder runs with H-class extraction connected, or wet where that suits the job, in line with Queensland's code of practice for respirable crystalline silica. Operators are trained and fit-tested for respiratory protection.

Can the floor be given a slip rating?

Tell us the use and the rating needed and we finish the floor to suit. Slip testing is not included in our price; we can arrange an independent tester to measure the finished floor, and their report comes to you.

More for councils and commercial sites

Tell us about the slab.

Still at plans stage, slab poured, or a floor that is already down - send what you have. Plans, photos or a rough area. We come back with what the slab can do and a day count.
