Finishes

Five floor finishes, the same work by hand on benches, seats and planters, and resealing for floors already down. Each finish is defined by how much the surface shines and how much stone it shows.

Honed and sealedDOI 0-9
Polished to 800DOI 40-69
Polished to 1500DOI 70-100
Grind and sealDOI 40-70
BurnishedDOI 40-70
Gloss measured as distinctness of image (DOI): 0 is fully matte, 100 is a mirror. Grind and seal is dashed because its sheen comes from a coating, not the concrete.
