Polished to 1500
The full mechanical polish, taken through the complete resin sequence and burnished after sealing.
What you see. A reflective surface with real depth. Aggregate appears to sit below a layer of glass. This is the finish most people picture when they say polished concrete.
Where it suits. Feature interiors where the floor is a design element - open-plan living, entries, galleries, showrooms.
What to know. Gloss is honest. It shows everything - slab undulation, placement marks, trowel patterns, every scratch and footprint until it is cleaned. It needs a good slab and a careful build, and it takes more passes than a satin polish, so it costs more. We can go finer again, to 3000 grit, on request.

The numbers
- Gloss (DOI)
- 70-100
- Grit sequence
- 20-150 metal, grout, resin 50-1500, densify, seal, burnish
- Removal depth
- 2-5 mm
- Slab flatness
- FF 45 or better
Removal depth depends on the aggregate exposure you choose as much as the finish. Full stone exposure takes 5-6 mm.

How it runs
- 1
Inspect
Flatness, strength and slab history. If the slab was not poured with polishing in mind, we tell you before you commit to this finish.
- 2
Sample area
The first step of the job: a small area finished on your own slab and signed off before we do the rest.
- 3
Grind and polish
Metal grits to the exposure you chose, then the full resin sequence to 1500.
- 4
Seal and burnish
Penetrating sealer, then a high-speed burnish for depth.
Time on site. Usually seven to eight days on site for a typical house.
Price. Quoted per job, from plans or a site visit. The most time-intensive finish we do, and the most sensitive to slab quality.

Questions
Can any slab be polished to 1500?
No. High gloss needs a flat, strong slab - FF 45 or better and at least 32 MPa. On an existing slab we check before quoting this finish.
Does high-gloss concrete need more cleaning?
It shows footprints and dust more than satin or matte. Cleaning is the same - a damp microfibre mop and pH-neutral cleaner - just more often if you want it to look its best.
How often does 1500 grit need resealing?
Indoors in a normal family home, every eight to ten years. Sand and grit walked in from outside shortens that.
